I don't know if youtube videos will display on deviantart but let's try.
I finished editing the time-lapse video of my Wreck-it Ralph animation. Don't mind the awful editing. It's a first time for me. ;-: So here you have most of the pixelart footage! Skip if you like.
I'm actually trying many way to do animation, im so interested with the way you do your own flashs, those are soooooo awesome!! I was wondering umm.... first how many frames did you use when you made Ralph moving particurlarly quickly, I saw you seem to have used less frames than when He was simply breathing
And also, im really curious about which program you're actually using to do your pixels animation, is it free nor...? I'm actually using Photoshop CS3 and you seems to use something beter than me
You mean when Ralph punches? if I include everything between the 2 keyframes, that should be 2. 1 is a smear (when characters have a bodypart stretched or squished). The faster a movement is, the less frames you need! Breathing is slower, so more frames.
Photoshop? Oh No! I haven't made anything in Photoshop. Photoshop is too profesional and has too many options. I don't even know where to begin if I open PS. I suggest these 3 programs here : [link]. I use graphicsgale at the moment If you need more helps feel free to message me again! No prob'!
Man, this is the first time I've watched a pixel art progress video, and it's really surprising and refreshing to see that we do things almost exactly the same, right down to the freehand mouse frame drafts and using Graphics Gale. I remember you helped me about 3 years ago on SheezyArt and I remembered your name, so it's nice seeing you again here.
I was Ghost Dad. I never really knew how other pixel artists work, I just did whatever was easiest for me, so it's interesting that apparently I figured it out the right way!
Well for animations, MSpaint is just too difficult. I used to overlap sprites,a nd then quickly CTRL+Z, then CTRL+Y, but it's tyoo much fo a hassle. HOWEVER spriting stills in mspaint is STILL a good way to do it. Don't feel too bad about to Josh.

I think most pixelartists work that way, unless they use shapes instead of lineart.
Definitely going to be using certain shortcuts I've seen here!
